Ajax star issues transfer statement amid reports as Lampard keen to complete deal

Ryan Gravenberch has pledged not to leave Ajax for nothing, despite reports connecting him with a move to Everton.

He has played in 92 games for Ajax in all competitions, scoring 10 goals, although his contract expires in 18 months, and a number of big European teams have expressed interest in his services.

He’s also racked up 11 assists while winning two Eredivisie championships and two KNVB Cups, which is why Frank Lampard is considering a summer move for the outstanding Ajax midfielder.

Despite all of the conjecture, Gravenberch has come out and addressed all of the rumors and speculation that have been circulating in the media over the last few months.

‘It’s with my father and my agent.’ When asked about his plans for next summer, the 19-year-old told Algemeen Dagblad, “I don’t know if I’ll be leaving next summer.” “What I do know is that if Ajax does not earn anything from me, I will not leave.”

“This is where I spent my whole childhood. Ajax has always treated me well. The club owes me a great deal. As a result, I won’t be able to depart on a free transfer. That’ll is not going to happen.”

Gravenberch can see himself continuing at Ajax for at least another two seasons, but he would welcome the chance to take on a fresh challenge outside of his birthplace if a move could be made sooner.

“On the other hand, stepping out of your comfort zone isn’t awful,” he continued. “It’s a different competition, a different football, a different way of life, and different people.” That might, however, be done at any age, such as 22.

“I am aware of my own characteristics, and if it occurs next summer, I am prepared.” But it’s still a long way off.”
