Director of Football Kevin Thelwell is reportedly still keen on signing Watford striker Joao Pedro for Everton.
A few weeks ago, it was said that the Goodison Park team was getting ready to match Newcastle United’s bid for Pedro.
However, the Magpies later went on to acquire Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak, which may have allowed room for the Merseysiders to make a last-minute deal before the deadline.
As per The Daily Mail, sharing news of an approach to sign Villarreal attacker Samuel Chukwueze, Thelwell and co. also ‘remain keen’ on signing Pedro in this transfer window.
They are ‘in talks’ to sign Chukwueze but a double swoop for the pair has not been ruled out.

It is certainly exciting for the Toffees supporters to be strongly linked with moves for both Chukwueze and Pedro before the window shuts. The latter especially is a striker that they so desperately need, following the injury to Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
The Brazilian has scored 15 goals for the Hornets at the young age of 20, and he already has two goals and two assists in total in the Championship this season. Journalist Josh Bunting dubbed him a “sensational” player after he scored an incredible counterattack goal in Watford’s opening Championship match at home against Sheffield United (Transfermarkt).
The Blues should work to close this trade today since Pedro is a promising player.
