Latest Arsenal News: Arsenal dealt blow on youngster who will miss a minimum of four weeks due to injury

Reading manager Paul Ince announced that Arsenal loanee Karl Hein has sustained an injury that will keep him out for at least a month.

Karl Hein, an Arsenal loanee, has had a setback in his progress away from north London.

Arsenal dealt blow on youngster who will miss a minimum of four weeks due to injury

The Estonian international joined Championship club Reading on loan in January, and after a succession of impressive displays for the Royals, the 19-year-old now faces a lengthy layoff after suffering a freak injury.

Reading’s bid to stay in the league was thwarted yesterday when they were defeated 4-1 by Blackpool, and manager Paul Ince clarified Hein’s present predicament.

“[Hein] fell in his house and tore the ligament off his thumb’s bone, so he’ll be out of commission in four to six weeks if he doesn’t require surgery, and two months if he does.” Ince remarked.

Despite the club’s failure to confirm his arrival from the United States, New England Revolution goalkeeper Matt Turner will join the club in the summer.

With Bernd Leno due to leave the club and seek first-team football somewhere, Turner will likely fight with Aaron Ramsdale for the No. 1 shirt next season.

Furthermore, Arthur Okonkwo, a young talent, is having a promising season with the Under-23s. Hein is anticipated to spend another season away from the Emirates Stadium following this season since the north Londoners’ goalkeeping department is sufficiently stocked.

Away from the club, William Saliba is having another fantastic season with Marseille in France, while Hale End graduate Brooke Norton-Cuffy has been in terrific form at Lincoln City since joining on loan in the January window.
