Aston Villa in ‘contact’ over £35m Juventus transfer after swap deal claims
Aston Villa are reportedly “in the picture” to sign Juventus midfielder Westoon McKennie.
The USA international starred for his country at the World Cup and has been a regular feature of Massimiliano Allegri’s team so far this season. McKennie has started 13 of 16 games, when fit, but still faces speculation over his future with the Italian giants.

It is not the first time that Villa have been linked with a move for the 24-year-old, who was reportedly a target for the club in both the summer of 2020 and 2021. However, Juventus have since hit financial trouble , with their entire board resigning in November after posting record losses and sparking an investigation into false accounting.
That’s according to a report from Numero Diez , via Sport Witness , that claims the former Schalke man has been made available this month. It is stated that Juve value the midfielder at €35-40m (£30-35m).
Numero Diez spoke to Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Carlo Laudisa, who revealed that Unai Emery’s side were paying close attention to McKennie’s situation. When asked about the prospect of Juve signing players in the January window, he said: ”It will depend on the eventual exit of McKennie, the only player for sale. There are contacts with the Premier League, with Aston Villa in particular and we’ll see.”
Villa are seemingly not the only club interested in McKennie, though. Sport Witness report that Bournemouth have already taken “concrete steps” over a move for McKennie.
