Gerrard was questioned about being given the time Klopp and Guardiola have had to create their respective successful squads ahead of this weekend’s Premier League title battle.
“I don’t suppose I hope,” Gerrard remarked. “I have to earn and prove that I deserve time and patience.” The first element of the task was to bring the team into a secure place in the league in a short amount of time.
“I believe we had a pretty good opportunity in January, when it was really tough to acquire support and additions.” We have a long summer window and a long pre-season to attempt to improve and strengthen ourselves for next year.
I’m quite confident, and I feel that with the appropriate support and additions, we can really kick it next year and come back stronger.”

“We need to concentrate on pushing into the top half of the league and really trying to reach out and be the best of the rest in terms of the top six,” Gerrard stated. That has to be our top priority.”
Head coach Steven Gerrard was questioned about lineup changes ahead of Sunday’s season finale at the Etihad. Marvelous Nakamba, Danny Ings, and Philippe Coutinho all came off the bench against Burnley, with Gerrard indicating that he’ll want to infuse some freshness into his Villa XI this weekend.
“You’ll have to wait and see what we decide with our players and game plan,” Gerrard said of his team’s composition.
“We just have a few hours to prepare.” We’ll wait and observe how they recuperate before deciding what to do in the next 24 hours.
“However, we must be highly organized defensively, and everyone must be fully invested in our own organization and contribution to the game.”
At the same time, we’re not going to sit around and do nothing. We need to be a danger in this game, therefore we’ll do everything we can to prepare.”
