This is latest Aston Villa news with Steven Gerrard set to face the Villa fans as he set to make a transfer decision which will affect the club and fans.
Tottenham Hotspur are apparently interested in Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn this summer, and losing the Scotland international would be a catastrophe for Steven Gerrard.
What exactly is the word?
According to the Daily Mail, Antonio Conte’s team are planning a move for the former Hearts midfielder after finishing fourth in the Premier League last season, securing Champions League football for next season.
Despite the fact that Villa will be aiming for European qualifying next season, given their marquee purchases thus far, McGinn may find it tough to turn down the opportunity of Champions League play in north London next season.

Is Gerrard on the verge of disaster?
While there was a lot of talk about Villa’s dynamic midfield last season, with Philippe Coutinho on loan from Barcelona and Jacob Ramsay having a breakout season, it was McGinn who was the most consistent player for the Villans.

According to WhoScored, the 27-year-old was Villa’s top performer in the Premier League, averaging a brilliant 7.17 rating, with Coutinho coming in second with a 6.96 rating.
McGinn’s importance to Gerrard is shown by this, and his midfield would be greatly weakened if he left this summer.
After a spectacular performance in a 2-1 win against Leicester City last season, the Villa manager was full of praise for the Spurs target, saying:
“John has been one of the most consistent players across the four games, and I thought he was fantastic all game.”
“I knew John a little bit before I walked through the door, and I knew he’d go above and beyond for me.
“Not only does he put in the effort, passion, and desire that he does for this club, but he also plays with true quality.”
“Some of his passing tonight was exceptional, so I’m really delighted with John’s play over the last few games; the goal for him now is to continue in this position.”
The Scottish midfield maestro is also a fan favorite at Villa Park, so fans would be devastated, if not outraged, if he left for Premier League opponents.
According to reports, Spurs would have to offer over £40 million to get McGinn away from Villa this summer, but given his performances last season, it would be devastating for Gerrard to sell him if he hopes to qualify for Europe next season.
