After a difficult start under new manager Steven Gerrard, journalist Dean Jones predicts there will be “quite a few exits” at Aston Villa this summer.

Since returning to the English Premier League for the 2019/20 season, Villa has spent a significant amount of money on new recruits, although not all of them have been successful.
When the market reopens, Jones believes Gerrard would ‘nearly demand’ numerous departures in order to impose his ‘personality’ on the playing team.
“I believe there will be quite a few exits at Villa,” he told GiveMeSport. Gerrard, I believe, will practically demand it because he needs to get control of this group and have it reflect his own style and identity.”
Who could possibly want to leave Villa Park?
Matt Targett, a former first-choice left-back, joined Newcastle on loan in January and is expected to make the move permanent ahead of next season.
Meanwhile, according to trade analyst Fabrizio Romano (via The Sun), Arsenal are interested in star midfielder Douglas Luiz, who is nearing the end of his contract.
Bertrand Traore, an out-of-favour winger, might seek a new challenge after Football Insider reported that Villa ‘would listen to bids’ for the 26-year-old.
