Aston Villa News: Romano expects interest in £12.5M star after failed Villa bid
This is one of the latest Aston Villa News trending online after Romano reveals and predicted the next summer transfer market happenings.
After a failed Aston Villa offer, Romano anticipates Premier League interest in Bologna star Hickey.

According to Fabrizio Romano’s CBS column, “Premier League clubs will return” to Bologna this summer to try to recruit Aaron Hickey after Aston Villa failed to secure a January deal.
During the winter transfer window, Steven Gerrard considered a move for Hickey as he looked to make his imprint at Villa Park.
The defender’s Serie A club, however, refused to trade their prized asset, who is a key part of Sinisa Mihajlovic’s plans at the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium this season.
Since departing Scottish Premiership team Hearts for £1.5 million in 2020, Hickey has grown and shown enormous offensive potential in Italy.
The 19-year-old has four goals and an assist in 36 appearances across all competitions, demonstrating excellent dual-footed talents and a creative flare.
In 24 Serie A outings so far this season, Hickey has contributed to all of his goals. His most recent assist came last Saturday against Salernitana, when Marko Arnautovic headed home his cross.

But Mihajlovic’s team couldn’t hold on to their advantage, and the game ended in a 1-1 tie.
Hickey started against Salernitana at left-midfield, although Mihajlovic has previously deployed the Scotland U21 international at left-back.
On the right side, he has played in both defensive and midfield roles. However, each goal has been scored while playing on the left side of the field.
Since Aston Villa failed to agree to Hickey’s transfer to Birmingham in January, Romano predicts Premier League clubs will attempt to raid Bologna this summer.
Gerrard’s interest in the Glasgow-born jewel was also mentioned by Italian journal Il Resto Del Carlino this winter.
Aston Villa allegedly offered Bologna €10 million (£8.5 million) for Hickey, with a 20% stake in any future move.
However, the Rossoblu believe he may earn €12-15 million (£10-12.5 million) this summer.
Bologna’s attitude will be justified by increased Premier League interest at the end of the season. If Gerrard and Aston Villa remain interested, they will face further competition.
