According to SportEarly, Bertrand Traore is expected to miss Saturday’s match against Watford but wants to recover from injury when Aston Villa visit to Brighton & Hove Albion.
The Villans take on the Hornets this weekend in the hopes of avenging their setback at Newcastle United. Steven Gerrard’s team has won only one of their previous six Premier League games, dropping to 12th position. During the holidays, they had broken into the top half of the table.

In Gerrard’s attempt to change the tide in Birmingham, Traore has been scarce. Last month, the 26-year-old earned his sixth appearance and first start of the season in the Villans’ 2-1 defeat at Brentford. After suffering an injury at the Africa Cup of Nations, he has not played since.
Traore suffered a hamstring strain while representing Burkina Faso at the African Football Confederation (AFCON) and finished fourth. While Villa’s medical staff believes he has just suffered a minor ailment, they are proceeding with care considering a string of previous issues.
Early in the season, the 62-cap winger sustained a hamstring injury that held him out of Dean Smith’s plans. Traore was also out for a long time due to a thigh injury he acquired while on international service, during which time the Villans fired Smith and recruited Gerrard.
TRAORE PUSHING TO RETURN TO ASTON VILLA TRAINING
Traore is yet to return to training following his latest injury, but he wants to join up with his Aston Villa colleagues in time for their trip to Brighton next week, giving Gerrard a lift.

Marvelous Nakamba’s rehabilitation from the knee ligament injuries he sustained in December is likewise on track. The Zimbabwean superstar’s three-to-four-month recuperation is progressing as predicted. However, the midfielder is still a long way from returning to play.
With Traore’s return from injury, Gerrard’s irritation will fade.
When Traore returns to training in the coming days, Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard’s rage will evaporate. The £17 million star, whom Smith previously described as a’marvellous technician,’ returned from AFCON with a problem, which enraged the England legend, who wrote on Birmingham Live:
