Bad officiating cost us” – Richarlison breaks his silence after wild celebrations against Liverpool

Richarlison is understandably relieved after opening his account in the Premier League for Tottenham, with the forward posting a picture of him celebrating with the away fans at Anfield.

The campaign has been an extremely frustrating one for Richarlison, who has had to deal with multiple injury issues and struggled at times to get regular starts under his belt.

When he has been handed starts, the 25-year-old has often been played out of position, which is why it might not be completely fair to criticise him harshly for his poor goal output.

However, even considering all these factors, Richarlison would have expected to find the back of the net more often and the relief was palpable when he finally opened his account for the Lilywhites in the Premier League against Liverpool on Sunday.

The former Everton man took his shirt off and celebrated in front of an ecstatic away crow while being mobbed by his teammates.

Unfortunately, for Spurs and Richarlison, Tottenham threw away a point late in the game as they gifted a stoppage-time winner to Diogo Jota.

Here’s what the Brazilian posted on Instagram following his goal:

Richarlison is fully deserving of that goal as he has been quite unlucky not to find the back of the net over recent months, having come really close on occasions and even having had a couple of goals chopped off for offside.

Hopefully, this strike would take the pressure off the 25-year-old and open the floodgates for him in front of goal.
