Chelsea transfer news: All the latest transfer stories from Stamford Bridge including updates on Matthijs de Ligt, Levi Colwill and Armando Broja
Bayern completes the Chelsea hijacking
According to Fabrizio Romano, Matthijs de Ligt, a transfer target for Chelsea, is about to be signed by Bayern Munich. It’s been reported that the two teams have been in direct communication for some time, and that the German powerhouses and Juventus verbally agreed yesterday night.
The Old Lady accepted a proposal from Bayern that, including add-ons, could be worth up to €80 million (£68 million). De Ligt, who was strongly rumoured to be moving to Stamford Bridge, is allegedly signing a five-year contract with the Allianz Arena.
SportEarly is aware that the Blues and Juventus discussed the defender. Bayern entered the race, but Chelsea was blown out of the water and has since turned their attention elsewhere.

As Chelsea go further into the summer transfer window, Thomas Tuchel has been presented with a significant conundrum over the future of Levi Colwill. After a spectacular loan season at Huddersfield Town last year, the 19-year-old has been strongly linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge.
The Athletic also claims that if Chelsea adds another defender this summer, the young player would want to depart Stamford Bridge before the transfer window closes. Kalidou Koulibaly was previously welcomed to the team by Todd Boehly, while the Blues are still said to be interested in Presnel Kimpembe and Jules Kounde.
Broja dilema create Declan Rice risk
With West Ham facing increasing competition to sign Armando Broja, Chelsea may lose ground in the pursuit of Declan Rice. After a brilliant loan season at Southampton last year, the 20-year-old striker has been strongly linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer.
Know that David Moyes has shown a serious interest in the striker and that the Blues manager will evaluate him throughout preseason. It’s also known that a number of elite European teams, including Everton, are interested in signing Broja.
Lazio is one of them, claims La Gazzetta Dello Sport. It is rumoured that Broja, who is valued at £57.8 million, is the subject of negotiations between Maurizio Sarri’s team and Chelsea.
Additionally, Boehly would lose negotiating power in the event that Declan Rice were to be traded in the future, even though the west Londoners would be able to cash in on the highly sought-after striker without directly assisting a rival team.
