BBC commentator Jonathan Pearce has claimed of transfer links between Leeds United and Ghana centre-back Alexander Djiku
The Whites’ defence has been called into question recently with seven goals conceded in two games just before the World Cup break.
It could lead to Jesse Marsch eyeing up centre-backs in the near future to bolster his defence.
Victor Orta will be watching the World Cup with the view of scouting potential signings, and the South Korea v Ghana clash brought another Elland Road-linked name.
Ghana and Strasbourg centre-back Alexander Djiku was linked with a move through GiveMeSport’s Ed Aarons, who claimed he could be a top signing for Leeds or any other side at a similar level to Marsch’s men.

Now, BBC commentator Jonathan Pearce has relayed these claims as he covered the match live on-air, with Djiku coming off the bench to help Ghana hold onto a 3-2 win:
“Away by Djiku – been linked to Wolves and Leeds amongst others.”
A centre-back isn’t the biggest priority right now, but it ought to be addressed long-term.
I would be surprised if Leeds made such a move for a 28-year-old centre-back, but he is out of contract and could be available for nothing.
It we continue to struggle in defence, I wouldn’t put it past us signing someone of his ilk.
