Bill Kenwright intervenes together with Kevin Thelwell to complete Amadou Onana’s significant transfer to Everton.
According to The Mirror, Bill Kenwright has intervened to ensure that Everton finalises a deal to capture Lille midfielder Amadou Onana.
According to the newspaper’s sports section in the print edition [06 August, pg. 3], Frank Lampard collaborated closely with Kevin Thelwell and the Chairman to complete a trade.

Onana is expected to sign with the Toffees for a cost of £33.7 million after turning down a transfer to West Ham United in London.
David Maddock wrote about all the intricacies of the relocation, which is getting closer with the medical this morning, in his most recent column for the Mirror.

He claimed that Everton had pulled off an ambitious coup by signing Amadou Onana, a midfielder from Belgium.
In order to settle on a cost of £33.7 million for the 20-year-old Lille midfielder, the Blues “hijacked a contract West Ham had put up for him. The defensive midfielder was sought after by Everton boss Frank Lampard as he looks to rebuild after narrowly avoiding relegation.
And he collaborated closely with Bill Kenwright, chairman, and director of football Kevin Thelwell to sneak past the Hammers and convince Onana to transfer north.
We don’t care who completes this move as long as it gets done.
Although Kenwright intervened to assist Lampard and Thelwell, perhaps with the club’s financing of the transfer, that three seemed to have worked flawlessly to complete everything.
You can anticipate that Onana will be introduced to the supporters at Goodison Park this evening because he is presently in Merseyside and will finish his medical on Saturday morning.
It will be a difficult evening for Everton as they face Chelsea in the Premier League opener without several of their new additions.
In order to capitalise on his success from last season, Lampard is planning to restructure this team when reinforcements arrive in droves.
This is a great addition, and if Idrissa Gana Gueye is added on top of it, this midfield will undoubtedly be more stronger and more dependable going forward.
