Newcastle United is reportedly willing to spend £30 million to get Lille star Jonathan David, according to new reports.
Eddie Howe will need the board’s approval to recruit a forward with the potential to score 30 goals each season for the club, which has led to speculation that Alexander Isak and David might be on the way.

Both have been impressive for their respective teams this season, and it’s easy to understand why the Toon board is willing to make a move, given they’re both regarded as world-class attackers.
The Toon are allegedly ratcheting up their interest in signing David ahead of the summer window, according to SportEarly.
The 22-year-old Canadian striker has 16 goals in 33 appearances this season, and his performances have piqued the interest of a number of teams around Europe, but Newcastle are apparently willing to increase his contract demands in order to win the race.
Despite all the hype, David has acknowledged that the Premier League is highly appealing. He told Telefoot: “The Premier League fascinates everyone.” It is the world’s most competitive championship.”
David is a solid young striker, but he isn’t producing the kind of goals that would propel the team to championship contention, which is why the Toon should not pursue him.
Yes, he has been good in the French League, but the Premier League is a whole different story, and the board should focus on signing players who have previously established themselves in the English league.
