    CAF approves Moshood Abiola Stadium for Nigeria vs Ghana World Cup qualifier match

    CAF approves Moshood Abiola Stadium for Nigeria vs Ghana World Cup qualifier match

    With much anticipation to Nigeria vs Ghana match set to be played later this february for 2022 World Cup Qualifier games, Nigeria who got eliminated at the knockout stage in just concluded Afcon 2022, hope to puts past there afflictions and shift there attention to the 2022 world cup tournament.

    The Central African Football governing body, CAF, on there main website released the permission of use of stadium Moshood Abiola stadium in Abuja as venue for the qualifier match between Nigeria and Ghana as they battle for 2022 World cup qualifications this month.

    The approval came courtesy of a message sent to NFF, Nigeria Football federation early last week and publish on there official website.

    Sunday Dare, the Nigeria Sports Minister who confirm the message sent by the governing body CAF, in Abuja through his Assistant Toyin Ibitoye saying the continental match will be played at the just renovated Moshood Abiola Stadium which was Approved by CAF. Also for the women matches to be played at thesame venue as they prepared for the AFCON women tournament later this year.

    Ibitoye continued, the approval was subsequent to deep investigation and inspection of the stadium carried out by the governing body CAF, although there are comment targeted at the stadium that needs to be addressed properly and to make sure the stadium remains in the good list of CAF venue for Senior Matches.

    Also, the message received carry 3rd of February 2022 and signed by CAFs Director of Development for Sports, Raul Chipenda, and stated that the country needs to make sure the turf, dressing rooms and Floodlight are maintain properly to be able to hod up key matches.

    Finally, “we applaud the Nigeria Football Federation who contributed immensely in helping us developing a good African Football facilities as we spread out in global football audience.”

    Nigeria Football Federation will be looking forward to make sure there is an utmost clarity in the use and maintenance of the any stadium in the country.
