Latest Aston Villa news from BirminghamLive as Cameron Archer offers to leave gift for young Boro supporter.

Cameron Archer’s loan stint with Middlesbrough ended in play-off heartache earlier this week when Michael Carrick’s side lost to Coventry City in the semi-finals, but the Aston Villa striker has left the club on good terms.

Archer has promised to sign a Boro jersey for a young supporter after taking a picture with him outside the Riverside before the play-off semi-final second leg with Coventry. The boy’s dad reached out to Archer over social media to thank him for his performances over the past few months while on loan from Villa.

The fan said: “Haven’t got the heart to fully explain that his fave player was here on loan and what that means. Never fall for a loan player they said, well my young ens gone all in, first sporting hero and I have to break it to him somehow. All the best for the future @Cameronarcher_.”

To which Archer replied: “Hi mate, thank you. What’s his name? Would love to send him a shirt if he’d be happy with that?”

The Boro supporter thanked Archer for his offer after watching the striker come close to firing his club back to the Premier League.
