Chelsea joins a competitive search for a 24-year-old defender.
In the fiercely fought competition to recruit Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic, Chelsea has joined.
After the next season, Milenkovic’s Fiorentina contract will expire. Last year, the 24-year-old was a regular for Fiorentina, but because his contract is up, they could have to sell him this year.
Multiple clubs are reportedly interested in signing him this summer, and he might cost around €15 million, according to Firenze Viola. The Serbian defender is being monitored by Tottenham, Chelsea, Juventus, and Inter Milan, among other teams.
It comes as no surprise that Chelsea is searching for a defender this summer. In order to bolster other positions, they acquired Milenkovic for a negligible cost.
Chelsea now offered chance to sign striker whose behaviour was described as simply unacceptable last season
Cucurella passes medical test and deal is signed off with 6 years on the table. Announcement is set to be made later today or Saturday morning as Thomas Tuchel needs him to join the squad and start training immediately.
After this signing is made, Chelsea will shift focus on getting a striker as they really want to prepare and back in the league contentions this season.
