N’Golo Kante, a midfielder for Chelsea, has refused a new contract and appears to be headed for the open market next summer.
The season-long agreement Kante now has with Chelsea will come to an end. The French international has been essential to Chelsea’s recent success, and this season’s results despite his injury demonstrate just how crucial he is to the group.
It would be disastrous for Chelsea to lose him, especially on a free transfer. According to The Athletic, Kante has turned down Chelsea’s offer of a new contract because the Frenchman wants a longer-term arrangement.
According to the rumour, several teams, including two Premier League teams, would be interested in acquiring Kante if his contract were to expire, and it does appear probable that he would depart Chelsea at the end of the current campaign.
Due to his advanced age and recent injuries, Chelsea is hesitant to give Kante a long-term contract. If the two parties are unable to reach an agreement, Kante, 31, may be forced to leave Stamford Bridge.
