Chelsea News: Tuchel confirms duo could return for Champions League clash vs Lille

Prior to Tuesday’s Champions League round of 16 first-leg encounter against Lille, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel delivered injury reports.

The Blues must now turn their attention back to the cup tournaments after their 1-0 triumph against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

They’ll play Lille in midweek at Stamford Bridge before facing Liverpool in the League Cup final at the weekend.

Cesar Azpilicueta and Callum Hudson-Odoi were among the Chelsea players who did not play at Selhurst Park.

Tuchel has confirmed that Azpilicueta and Hudson-Odoi were ruled out at the last minute through injury.

Tuchel said that the two players were unable to play due to last-minute injuries.

    Predictions for the Europa League.
Thankfully, the management has verified that the former will be available on Tuesday.

“Of course, we’ll fight for Azpi, and we’ll push for Mason [Mount],” Tuchel said on Chelsea TV when asked about a probable injury comeback for the Champions League encounter.

“However, it may be a little early for Mason.”

“I don’t believe he’ll make it.” But we’ll give it a shot and see what happens.”

Mount injured his ankle in the Club World Cup final, and according to Tuchel, his ligaments were significantly damaged.

Tuchel may opt not to take any chances and instead wait for the midfielder to completely heal before facing Liverpool at the weekend.
