Josko Gvardiol has been mentioned here and there, but other options, like Milan Skriniar at Inter, will be considered as well.
If he doesn’t extend his contract with the Serie A club, the Slovakian will enter the last six months of his current deal in January and be free to negotiate a move to Chelsea.
Inter would want to have him do this because of how valuable he is to the squad, but at age 27 and having played in Italy with Sampdoria since 2016 after a move from MSK Zilina, he may be ready for a change.
A new long-term contract is still being negotiated between the club and player, although the Italian club’s limited resources prevent them from offering as much as their competitors.
According to a Monday article published by Calciomercato.it, Inter’s offer “should be €6m/season,” which is “far lower” than what other clubs like Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea would reportedly make.
In fact, it has been rumoured that both the Blues and their French rivals are “ready to put €8m every season on the plate.”
For Skriniar, the problem, according to Calciomercato.it, is that he is such a key player for Inter right now, while he may not be at Chelsea or PSG, where there is much more competition.
He would be up against Marquinhos, Presnel Kimpembe, and even Sergio Ramos in Paris, not to mention newcomers like Fofana and Koulibaly.
