This weekend, Tottenham will play Seville in their last international friendly in Korea, and Antonio Conte has promised that Heung-Min Son will have an opportunity to shine.
Son is the focal point for Spurs on this preseason tour, and it appears like the home audience will get its wish to watch Son in action this time around. Of course, in the last preseason game against a K League XI, the striker scored twice after coming off the bench.
Son will have the opportunity to surpass himself this weekend, though, as Conte said in a statement to Football London that Son will start the game this time around.
“We must definitely make changes in the upcoming game. I want to make a change. I’ll say it again: I want to rotate a lot during preseason because you can attempt to give each player a chance to play and prove that they are deserving of playing in every game. Sonny will get the start for the game tomorrow, Conte said.
Of course, everyone is aware of how highly Conte regards Son, so the opportunity to play him for extra time in front of a boisterous home crowd is not one he’ll pass up. In fact, Conte had just a few days prior praised Son as one of the finest players in the world of football.
SportEarly Opinion: Son Will Leave Tottenham In Style
This would be the cherry on top of what had already appeared to be a very successful summer tour for Tottenham.
At the end of the day, Son is a tremendous name in South Korea and a major factor in the popularity of Spurs in that region of the world. If he does manage to finish with a couple more goals, it will just whet the Korean fans’ appetites for more action the next summer.
