De Gea makes honest confession after Man United’s 2-0 win over Brighton
Following Manchester United’s 2-0 Premier League win against Brighton on Tuesday night, goalkeeper David de Gea made an open confession.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes both scored two goals as Manchester United overcame Brighton at Old Trafford.
However, De Gea feels that Ralf Rangnick’s side did not play well in the first half, and that Brighton had a few of chances against Man United.
“On be honest, I think we had control of the game in the second half,” De Gea stated later to MUTV. They had a handful of decent chances in the first half, but it wasn’t their greatest performance.
“But then in the second half, we reacted really well, scored a goal, and they got a red card.”
“Even so, we give a few of opportunities in the end, so we should kill the game before that, but for now, the three points are the most important thing, so we are delighted with the three points.”
“We could have scored much sooner, we had a couple of fantastic chances,” he said, “and then you suffer when you don’t get the goal and you don’t kill the game.”
“You suffer because they’re a terrific squad that knows how to play, but this is football, and we won the game and are thrilled.”
