According to Record, Everton and Sporting CP defender Ruben Vinagre are close to reaching a loan-to-buy agreement.
According to a story in the Portuguese newspaper’s print version [26 July, p. 9], the Toffees will pay the left wing-whole back’s wage, which is slightly under £680,000 annually.
According to rumours, if Everton is pleased with the 23-year-performances old’s at Goodison Park over the upcoming season, they will pay somewhat less than £8.5 million for him.
Before the preseason ever got underway, Sporting coach Ruben Amorim had already made up his mind to break company with Vinagre following only one complete season at the club.
The former Wolves star only made 18 appearances last season and therefore needs a place to call home; the initial loan is probably seen to be minimal risk.

Since Kevin Thelwell and Vinagre worked together at Molineux, Frank Lampard would have had to approve this before it could proceed.
Finally, there is some noticeable progress being made on the transfer front.
However, we have to admit that given our current situation, we really need to reinforce a lot of other areas of the team rather than left back.
As of right moment, Vitalii Mykolenko is the key guy in that position for sure, making Vinagre little more than a rotational alternative.
Although that is necessary, it would have been nice to have imagined that the midfield and final third would be addressed first given how bad and fragile they now appear to be.
However, we can’t really complain because we were beginning to believe that nothing would happen.
Vinagre has Premier League experience and will be a useful addition to the matchday squad each week. Let’s hope this kickstarts a nice few weeks before the first game.
