Sporting Lisbon find themselves in a “delicate” situation as they could terminate the loan agreement with Everton, according to O Jogo.
The Portuguese newspaper (7 January, page 14) reported that the possibility of the 23-year-old being loaned out to another club in January cannot be ruled out
The Eagles initially signed the Portuguese defender from Wolves in 2021 and made his stay permanent last year by paying a fee of around £8.8m.
Sporting are looking to re-evaluate Vinagre’s situation in the winter transfer window. It’s a delicate situation for the club as they paid a lot of money for someone who is not playing regularly.
The club are looking to find a “new solution” for him, and an exit from Goodison Park could be on the cards.
Likely
Sporting are disappointed that a move from Vinagre didn’t work at the Merseyside club.

When he joined in the summer on loan from Sporting, it appeared that the Toffees have secured a masterstroke signing.
Capable of playing as a left-back as also as a left-sided midfielder, the club also managed to add someone who has got previous experience of playing in the Premier League.
But the loan move has turned into a disaster for him. He has managed only two cup games, and 24 minutes of Premier League actions.
Vitaliy Mykolenko is the first-choice left-back at the club, but Frank Lampard hasn’t found a way to utilize Vinagre.
There is no point keeping him at the club until the end of the season, as clearly it appears that he is not in Lampard’s plans.
It would make sense for Sporting to take him back, and shift him elsewhere on loan in January.
In that case, the Toffees may need to sign a new left-back.
