This is the latest Everton news around the globe with Everton on red hot plate as new claims emerges which might make way for the toffees out of the EPL.
Everton can blame poor refereeing decisions if they are relegated from the Premier League this season, according to Danny Mills.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Leeds United and England defender pointed to Rodri’s alleged handball in Man City’s 1-0 win at Goodison Park earlier this year (26 February).
Sky Sports reported (1 March) that Mike Riley, the head of the PGMOL, had personally apologised to Frank Lampard for the decision not to award Everton a penalty in the game.
That was one of only two home games the Toffees have lost in their last in their seven fixtures at Goodison Park.
“Their home form has been good,” Mills told Football Insider‘s Connor Whitley.
“Even the games that they lost, against Man City there was possibly the worst handball decision we’ve seen ever against Rodri. How that was not given I don’t know and the officials have got to look at themselves.
“That might cost Everton and they might go down because of that and that was a horrific, blatant decision that they’ve missed.
“Then there was the Anthony Gordon one against Liverpool, I think that was a penalty. It could have changed the course of the game and we’ll never know. If they go 1-0 up in that they might have got a point.
“Although they lost those games the home form has been decent and the away form has been awful. Lampard does not have a different plan and is not telling them anything different when it’s home or away.
“The Everton players have to step up away from home and put in the same performance and effort. You’ve got to go out there and perform, you got yourselves in the mess, get yourselves out of it.
“Without a doubt, they’ve got the quality to do it. Frank will be saying ‘Look what you did against Liverpool, against Man City, you’ve already beaten Chelsea and Arsenal this season, you can do it’.
“You’ve got to put in the effort and performance and of course you need a little bit of luck along the way.”
