This is latest Everton News with lampard and Everton board hoping the manchester united youngster James Garner could help solving out some problem.
Everton have been linked with a bid for Manchester United’s James Garner, but what does the Manchester United prospect have to offer Frank Lampard? The midfielder, who turned 21 in March, has been on loan at Nottingham Forest for the past year and a half, and he featured in the East Midlanders’ 1-0 win over Huddersfield Town in the Championship play-off final at Wembley last week, ensuring their return to the Premier League for the first time since 1999.

Steve Cooper’s team are sure to want to keep Garner as they prepare for life in the Premier League, but according to the Mirror, Old Trafford directors are willing to loan the player out again, so a temporary move to Goodison Park might meet the bill.

Lampard is looking to bolster his midfield – a priority position with centre-back – and a return to his native Merseyside, where he made 49 appearances and scored four goals this season, might appeal to the Birkenhead-born Garner as a step up from returning to the City Ground.
With a score of 75 percent on Comparisonator’s Similarity Index, Norwich City’s Matthias Normann is regarded to be the most similar in style to Garner among defensive midfielders who played in the Premier League this season.
Newcastle United’s Jonjo Shelvey comes in second with 69 percent, followed by Burnley’s Ashley Westwood (63 percent) and Southampton’s (58 percent), but a deeper look at the players’ performances provides plenty of fuel for debate.
Garner would lead the way in shot assists (1.31 per game) if inserted among players already functioning in his position in the Premier League, compared to Ward-(1.1) Prowse’s and Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson’s (1.07).
Garner’s 0.72 ball loses in his own half per game, which would put him seventh in the Premier League behind Ward-Prowse (0.31) and make him more efficient on an equal level than Henderson (0.73), West Ham United’s Declan Rice (0.81), or Manchester City’s Rodri (0.81). (0.81).

While Garner’s low equivalent placings for both passes per game (39.65) and successful passes per game (31.25) reflect the Championship’s more hectic style, with numbers less than half of the respective category leaders Henderson (83.59) and Rodri (75.56), he does make the most of the ball when he receives it, as he’d be eighth in key passes with 0.84 per game as opposed to the departing Henderson (83.59).
Garner’s average score of 95 on Comparisonator’s Passing Index would place him third in the Premier League if his stats were transferred, with only Ward-Prowse (122.78) and Westwood (112.21) scoring higher.
It remains to be seen if such potential will be enough to entice Lampard and new director of football Kevin Thelwell, but the prevailing view is that Everton could use more eager, youthful players next season.
