Sources: Major update on Rangers pursuit of Tom Davies
Tom Davies is set to stay at Everton this month despite interest from Rangers, sources have told Football Insider.
Michael Beale has publicly admitted he is a big fan of Davies, 24, after being asked about reports linking him with a move.
A well-placed source has told Football Insider that there has been no contact between Everton and Rangers over Davies and that Frank Lampard is set to keep hold of the midfielder following the recent injury to Alex Iwobi.
Davies has made 10 appearances in all competitions for Everton so far this season, which include just four Premier League starts.
He has struggled for game time after serious knee injury ruled him out for much of last campaign, in which he started only two league matches.

Davies is a popular figure among Everton supporters after graduating from the club’s academy to make 169 appearances for the club in all competitions.
But he is out of contract in the summer and increasingly likely to end his lengthy association with the club.
Nevertheless, Davies is likely to be needed by Everton in the second half of the season if they are to climb clear of Premier League trouble.
The Merseysiders are 18th in the table close to the halfway point of the campaign, with just 15 points on board.
They have little money to spend in the January window after running into trouble with the Premier League’s spending regulations.
