Sources: Everton braced for £30m+ Newcastle bid for Anthony Gordon
Everton are braced for a new £30million-plus Newcastle United offer for Anthony Gordon, sources have told Football Insider.
The north-east giants have reignited their pursuit of the Goodison star, 21, after loaning Chris Wood to Nottingham Forest.
Newcastle are in the market for a versatile forward rather than a direct replacement for Wood and are willing to spend big on a permanent signing.
Gordon was on their radar last summer and Everton knocked back a £35m offer from Newcastle in July.
Chelsea also pushed hard for Gordon and suggested multiple formulas, including players as part of a swap deal, before talks ground to a halt.
Gordon has struggled to reproduce his form of the second half of last season for Frank Lampard’s relegation-threatened team.
