Aston Villa’s claimed ambitions of luring PL giant player to the club appear to be dashed, as Chelsea reportedly closing in on him.
What word is that?
The former AFC Bournemouth center-back was extensively connected to Villa earlier in the transfer window. According to sources, he was anxious to leave the Etihad since he wasn’t getting regular starts under Pep Guardiola.

Fabrizio Romano claims that Thomas Tuchel’s group appears to have prevailed in the competition to recruit the Dutch international.
The football writer stated on Twitter that Chelsea and Nathan Aké have reached a complete understanding over personal matters. Man City is aware of the circumstance on the player side, but they are currently awaiting the formal offer.
City wants to spend between £40 and £45 million on Aké, and if that happens, they’ll replace him with a new centre back.
With Todd Boehly as Chelsea’s new billionaire owner in place, the Blues shouldn’t have any issues with that sum, and a deal will probably be finalised before to the start of the new season.

Fans will be devastated
Although Steven Gerrard already added Diego Carlos to his backline this summer, Ake might have been a fantastic choice for the centre of his defence in addition to a number of other center-back choices at Villa Park.
Aymeric Laporte, Ruben Dias, and John Stones were occasionally starting ahead of Ake for City last season, and given Ake’s strong performances, the Dutchman would have been an improvement over the Englishman on those few instances.
In his 14 Premier League games last season, Ake averaged a fantastic 6.92 rating from WhoScored, which was higher than any of Villa’s center-back choices could achieve. He could have undoubtedly improved Gerrard’s team with his talent.
