According to renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham have finally agreed a deal with Sporting CP for Pedro Porro.
The deal was initially thought to have fallen through, but Romano claims that the North London club has resurrected the deal and the Spanish defender is on his way to the Premier League.
The ‘different class’ defender, who has been linked with Tottenham for the entirety of this month, is set to arrive at Spurs as the club’s second signing of the January transfer window after the arrival of Arnaut Danjuma on loan.
The 23-year-old has been in impressive form for Sporting this season, playing a crucial role in their defence and helping the club to the final of the Portuguese League Cup – which they lost to Porto this weekend.

Tottenham have been searching for a new right wing-back for some time now, with the club lacking depth in that position. Matt Doherty has been plagued by injuries and poor form, while Emerson Royal often looks lost on the pitch.
Porro, will be a much-needed boost for the Tottenham defence and will likely be a starter from day one. He is known for his pace, athleticism, and excellent crossing ability, and will provide a solid attacking threat on the flank.
In addition to Porro, Spurs have also been linked with moves for Nicolo Zaniolo and Piero Hincapie. Zaniolo, who plays as an attacking midfielder for Roma, is highly rated and has been linked with clubs across Europe including AC Milan, and, strangely, Bournemouth. Hincapie, on the other hand, is a young Colombian defender who has been impressing for Bayer Leverkusen over in Germany.
While it remains to be seen if Tottenham will make any further signings on deadline day, the arrival of Pedro Porro is certainly a good start.
