Leeds United players will reportedly be given some time off training while the others have headed to join their respective national teams.
According to the Athletic journalist Phil Hay, this will perhaps be the first time that Javi Gracia gets to see his family since taking the Leeds job.
He’s been in the UK since February after he succeeded Jesse Marsch at the helm and will likely jet back to Spain.
Hay said on the Phil Hay Show at 1:58, “From what I understand, the others (not on international duty) will be given some time off from training.
“I think it might be the first chance that Gracia sees his family and children since taking the Leeds job.”
Needs it
Gracia needs the break and reunion with his family as it’s certainly been a stressful few weeks at Elland Road.
He took over after a botched managerial search and has managed to steady the ship and take his side to 14th place in the league.
They’re still some way from where they want to be but steps are been taken in the right direction and players seem to be responding well to his methods.
Hopefully, he has a fully fit Rodrigo until the end of the season as the Spaniard could be the difference between relegation and survival.
Leeds need a talisman who can score goals regularly and Patrick Bamford and Geroginio Rutter do not seem capable of doing that just yet.
Things can change, of course, but having their top goal scorer available is an important psychological boost as well for the Whites.
