Arsenal legend Paul Merson has give his verdict on 70M man who has manage to get along with the team and urge the head coach Mikel Arteta to change Gabriel Martinelli to a striker for the club, which may likely save the day for the 70M man.
The Arsenal side are currently short sided with a striker as Pierre Emerick Aubameyang completed a last minute transfer deadline day move to Barcelona.
By which the Gunners has failed to fill out the void left by the Striker but rumours has it that, the Gunners are willing to bring in florentina Striker Dusan vlahovic but the player ignore the club and preferred to stay with his parent club.
Now, left with Lacazette and Nketiah as the striker but much demand is needed from the head coach in the center forward position. Also the two players will be out of contract in the next 5 months now.
Which is by the end of the season, Nketiah and Lacazette contract expired and the club might decide to give them another chance or let them go.
Meanwhile, most times Gabriel Martinelli has been used as left Winger at the club but during Arteta reigns, he has been used up front in several occasions.
And during the pre season period in Dubai, he was seen and used as an alternative to any position in the front line.
Paul Merson when speaking Sportskeeda ahead of league meeting with Wolverhampton Wanderers, pointed the fact of Martinelli involvement in the group.
“If am to be the boss, Martinelli start as the main striker,” he said.
“Arsenal doesn’t need to spend over and over again for any striker, the striker they needed is already in the club.
“He is potentials striker with pace and much lively on the field of play. He has every attrinute of a striker.
“He should be given a chance to lead the line till the end of the season and might save £70M man from his mess.

when its comes to finishing a deal off for a striker, the Gunners are really far from behind. They only have Lacazette and Nketiah till the close of season.
If the head coach plan to call for a change at the front by inplementing Martinelli as the striker, its will make a different changes to the team performance.
Martinelli has shown the Arsenal family, he can lead the front line, he has what its needed.
