Danny Murphy has lauded Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams for his ‘tireless’ performance during the USA’s crucial 1-0 win over Iran at the World Cup, as he told Match of the Day.
The USA progressed through to the knockout stages of the World Cup thanks to a narrow, yet nervy, but ‘deserved’ win over Iran in Qatar for their final Group B game.
Once again, Adams donned the captain’s armband for his country and put in another brilliant display after producing a Man of the Match performance during the USA’s goalless draw against England.
Given that progression to the last 16, it’s Louis van Gaal’s Netherlands up next for Adams and Co.
If the former RB Leipzig man continues in his current ways, then Gregg Berhalter’s men have every chance of going deep into this tournament, as Murphy added that Adams was ‘everywhere’ yesterday.

“Thoroughly deserved,” said Murphy. “Some terrific performances. Musah was wonderful again and celebrated his birthday.

TYLER ADAMS STOCK IS RISING
What a signing the 23-year-old is proving to be for Leeds and what a leading figure he can become in Yorkshire in years to come.
When Kalvin Phillips headed for the exit door, many felt that Leeds would have found it difficult to recover from losing such an important player of their team in recent years.
But, forget about the Whites possibly missing ‘the Yorkshire Pirlo’, they have found an upgrade on him in Captain America.
