Newcastle is now in the lead in the competition to recruit Tanguy Ndombele away from Tottenham, claims Media Foot.
Although the French midfielder hasn’t had the best of seasons in the Premier League, he still possesses a tonne of potential.
Ndombele is a great player on his days, and Kieran Trippier of Newcastle United is one of those fans.
Trippier has studied Ndombele and heard positive things about him from his old teammates, but he never had the opportunity to play alongside Ndombele at Tottenham.
On his visit on The Beautiful Game Podcast, Trippier talked about Ndombele replacing Mousa Dembele.
Although I haven’t played with Ndombele, I have watched him play. I’ve heard he’s fantastic and reportedly terrifying,” Trippier remarked.

“They have strong players, but for me, Mousa’s departure clearly eliminated any chance they had of winning anything. That’s what I think. You don’t want to see a player like Mousa depart as a player. in particular in January. I genuinely don’t know unless there was something he had to leave behind or whatever.
Ndombele hasn’t really been able to cut it at Tottenham, but there’s reason to think he’d do better there.
Ndombele wouldn’t really need to run all that much in an all-action midfield with Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton, and that’s where his game starts to suffer.
Ndombele might become a star for Newcastle if he is given a position that is only that of a creator and Newcastle lets the two Brazilians handle the most of the grunt work.
Trippier claims to be a terrifying player, and although he hasn’t exactly displayed that at Tottenham, there have been glimmers of what he is capable of.
Newcastle would be taking a risk by signing Ndombele, but that gamble may pay off.
