    The history behind Newcastle United and all is achievement in English top flight football, started back in 3rd of March 1877, as Elswick Rugby Club hosted a the first football match being played at the tyneside in that year.


    it’s was first known as association club and they first match 5-0 against Elswick leather work, later some group brought up an idea to create and renewed it to Newcastle’s first association football club, which was traced back to a football club owned by the Stanley Cricket Club of Byker in November 1881.


    After much debate from the association group of Cricket in 1882, it was renamed Newcastle East End FC in October to avoid confusion with the Cricket Club that bears almost thesame named with the football Club.


    Meanwhile, another Byker Side Cricket with Rosewood FC collide with each other to form a stronger Cricket contender, but after sometime they started showing interest in football and decided to create a football club 1882, which was named Newcastle West End FC.

    The Newcastle West End FC moved the Club to a new stadium called St James’ park but played their first match in their Cricket pitch in May 1886. The rivals between the two club begam to grow wide and becomes more stronger as East End were afraid not to be left behind by moving step a further to sign good players into the Club in the close season of 1888.


    In 1889, the Newcastle East End became a professional team, as West End FC also grabs the city premier Club. The FA Cup began to attract more discussion and the first region league competition was formed in 1889.


    In 1892, West End FC entered bankruptcy and found the club in big trouble as they experience their worst ever decline where some of its players and backroom staffs joined the East End FC, they also record their first ever loss to their bitter rivals on five occasion that year. But in May 1892 West End FC had to lease out their pitch St. James’ park to East End to curb away for thier downwardness.


    After a while the Newcastle East End FC started drawing much crowd to the club and they decided to adopt a new name to summarize the whole never of the club. After much search of names they decided to end up with Newcastle United on the 9th December 1892 to show the loyalty and significance of the two teams the East End FC and the West End FC. The football Association accepted the name on the 22th of December 1892 and was legally constituted 6th September 1895.


    After gaining promotion to the first division football in England in 1898-1899 season, they finished the season 13th position and lost their first ever match at home to wolves in a 4-2 loss.
    Newcastle United didn’t get much attention until 1903-1904 season, where the club brought in promising group of players and dominate for a decade. In 1904 Newcastle United went on to win the league on three different occasion in 1904-1905, 1906-1907, 1908-1909 season and also reaching the FA Cup final on five occasion winning 4 out of it before and after the world war 1.


    Newcastle United suffered their first ever heaviest defeat in the league in 9-1 loss to their local rivals Sunderland in 1908. After the world war 1 the club returned with much strength as they won the FA Cup trophy in 1924 for the 2nd time followed it up by winning the league 3 year later captained by the record sigining Hughie Gallacher.

    In 1932 they won the FA Cup for the third time and that brings a properous year for the team. but at the end of 1933-1934 season the club got relegated to second division after 35 years in the first division league. They battle for survival in the 2nd division and almost got relegated that season but survived on goal difference as they recorded their first ever huge win against the liverpool 9-2 and 7-3 to Everton that season.


    Newcastle United bounce back again after the world war 11 in 1939, but returned to the first division in 1948 and won the FA Cup 3 times between 1951-1955, they were labelled hw cup specialist following a decade without the league and other additional silverwares to come by.


    After series of stylishly and beautiful football, Kevin Keegan returned to the club as a manager in 1991-92 season after my years as a player of the club where he won the league in 1948 with 3 FA Cup. He transformed the club to a dominating team after surviving from relegation zone. In 1992-93 season Newcastle United won the league as they gain promotion while also securing their first ever European qualification.


    Kevin Keegan sign big names to the club to rival the clubs in the league but finish runners up to Manchester United on different occasions in 1997 and 1998 season. Bobby Johnson was brought in as manager in September 1999 and he took the club to another dimension where they finished forth 2001-02 season by also securing the qualification to their first ever Champion League Football. They were eliminated in the group stage and sent to UEFA Cup where they bow out in the semifinal.


    St. James’ Park stadium was redevelop and increase from an initial 36,000 capacity to a 52,000 capacity which include the modern era facilities, infrastructure.


    The New Ownership


    A quite number of people have become the C.E.O of the Club from 1936 till today. Derek Llambias was the Director of the club between 2008 and 2013 where the new dimension of football start in the club, he brought the club back from relegation to the league in 2010 before they finally went back in 2015. In 2013 Mike Ashley took over for a year before being succeeded by Lee Charnley as the new C.E.O of the club in 2014 to 2021.


    In 2021, Newcastle United became the richest club in the world after being owned by a multi billionaire Saudi Arabia Prince under a public investment fund, PCP Capital partners and RB sport & media whose full name is YASIR BIN OTHMAN AL-RUMAYYAN.


    The New reigns bring joy among the Newcastle United fans Nationwide as new regime takes place with Amanda Staveley appointment as co- Director of the club with James Reuhen.


    The manager Steve Bruce left his position as the club manager on a mutual consent and the club appointed Eddie Howe as the new manager of the club on the 8th of November, 2021.
