George Caulkin has revealed that someone at the top of Newcastle United has hinted at little money being available next month
Newcastle have experienced two very exciting and lavish transfer windows thus far under the ownership of PIF having seen their club splash out over £220 million on nine new players, but that doesn’t look set to continue in January.
This is because reports have claimed that Newcastle are not set to spend heavily in January as they look to balance the books, especially with no major front-of-shirt or stadium sponsors yet on board with the club so income is difficult to come by.

While Caulkin has revealed what someone at the top of the club has hinted at a tight transfer budget, many fans will feel like they’ve been here before, as they were told Newcastle had a £60m budget over the summer, only to spend more than that on Alexander Isak alone.
Therefore, fans could still be cautiously optimistic about what the transfer window may hold for them as Newcastle do business to help them kick on during the second half of the season and keep their spot inside the top four.
We believe that whatever PIF decide to do in January will be backed by the Newcastle fanbase given the relative success they’ve had with their new owners in such a short period of time, so they certainly seem to know what they are doing, contrary to what Paul Merson claimed last year.
