After acquiring James Tarkowski earlier this month, Everton is yet to add another player, but a significant development has been made about the team’s pursuit of a highly-coveted target.
What’s the Update?
Journalist Dharmesh Sheth provided an update on the Toffees’ progress in their pursuit of Wolves midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White on Sky Sports News.
“Everton are in negotiations with Wolves regarding the signing of their midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White, but there’s still a disparity in value,” he said in a tweet to Sky Sports.

Personal terms would not be an issue, according to what we’ve been informed, if a deal can be reached, but we believe Wolves is seeking more than £25 million.

Lampard will be buzzling
Frank Lampard will undoubtedly be excited that Gibbs-White is such a prospective target this summer. The Toffees boss will undoubtedly be anxious to bolster his squad with high-caliber players who can immediately make an impact coming into the club at Goodison Park next season.
The 22-year-old has had trouble making a name for himself at Molineux, but he has proven over the past year that he is worth his weight in gold by earning a loan to Sheffield United of the Championship.
Gibbs-White made 35 league games with the Blades, during which time he scored 11 goals, provided nine assists, and generated a staggering 16 significant chances.
He made 1.6 key passes, took 2.4 shots and won 4.9 duels per game as he showcased an impressive attacking threat which would be a valuable asset to Everton next season.
For his efforts with the Blades, the gifted midfielder has garnered high acclaim, with Chris Basham referring to him as a “breath of fresh air” in an interview (via Sheffield Star).
A former Bramall Lane teammate of the young player said of him: “Morgan has come in and has been a breath of new air. He moves effortlessly past opponents, is huge, strong, and forceful – in short, he is everything a Wolves player should be.
Richarlison’s departure leaves Lampard with a void in Everton’s attack, and even though Gibbs-White is a midfielder, he could easily be the answer to giving the front three the creativity and chances to score next season in an advanced role to make sure the Toffees don’t fall short in racking up points.
Farhad Moshiri would gain a lot of money this summer if the young Wolves midfielder were to be signed, and Lampard would have a brilliant player who might make a huge difference in the Premier League next season.
