According to source at Tottenham John Wenham, the club’s attempt to offload Tanguy Ndombele this summer has turned into a “disaster.”
Trying to make a new beginning
The Frenchman joined his old team Lyon in January and spent the second half of the last campaign on loan, but he has now returned to the Premier League after his stint in Ligue 1 was over.
The midfielder’s agents are now in contact with a number of teams about a move, according to last week’s report from transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, though no advanced conversations have yet taken place.

Wenham stated his displeasure over the 25-year- old’s position at Tottenham when asked by Football Insider what he believes will happen to Ndombele in the upcoming weeks.
“I expect he’ll depart on loan to a really mediocre French team on the very last day of the window,” he remarked of the midfielder.

“Way below Lyon and other clubs like that. Somewhere along the lines of Bordeaux, Guingamp, or St. Etienne, but I’m not even sure they still play at the highest level.
“Someone considerably lower down, where Tottenham is paying all of his money and another year of his contract has passed. With three years left and him making £200,000 a week, our predicament is a comedy. It’s a complete catastrophe right now.
Good time to leave
During his three years at Tottenham, Ndombele hasn’t had much success, so it appears like the right moment to depart is now.
The fact that Antonio Conte was eager to send the 25-year-old out on loan so soon after seeing him in action only serves to further demonstrate that the Italian doesn’t see the midfielder as a part of his long-term plans. The midfielder only made three top-flight appearances under Conte before going out on loan.
The Frenchman was also left off of Tottenham’s preseason squad that travelled to South Korea, so his departure this summer now appears all but certain—that is, if there is a team willing and able to take him off of Tottenham’s hands.
