Leeds United director of football Victor Orta reached an agreement to sign Barcelona youngster Ilias Akhomach.
The Whites are already reportedly looking into ways to bring in new signings in the summer window, even though the find themselves still in the thick of the relegation battle.
Whether it’s in order to bolster the youth squad or to plan ahead for whichever eventuality materialises with the first-team, Victor Orta appears to be hard at work.
Who are Leeds been linked with?
El Desmarque reported recently that Leeds are keen on signing Barcelona winger Ilian Akhomach in the summer.
The Spanish-born 18-year-old is out of contract in the summer and could be set to leave the La Liga giants for nothing, having rejected a contract renewal to remain at the Camp Nou.

Meanwhile, fellow La Liga outfit Sevilla were said to be eager to open talks to sign the winger ahead of a bargain swoop in the summer.
Now, El Chiringuito‘s Marcos Benito are claiming that an agreement has been reached to see the teenager join Leeds this summer when his contract expires.
Who is Ilias Akhomach?
Captain of Spain’s under-19 squad, Akhomach has made a good impression in the Barcelona youth ranks recently, making his first-team debut last season under Xavi, appearing twice in La Liga in 1-0 wins.
Barcelona’s heavy investment into the attack in the summer (including signing Raphinha), as seen Akhomach revert to playing solely in the youth sides this season as his contract runs down towards the summer.
Transfermarkt have the right-winger valued at €3million.
It’s the sort of deal that we have always been after since promotion, looking to very talented players that are running down their contracts and would be available for cheap.
It is hard to say a great deal about Akhomach without having seen him play for Barcelona much, but he’s another youth international captain that could join.
One thing about Orta’s recruitment that cannot be discredited is how well he has bolstered the youth setup.
Akhomach would be some coup for us to pip Sevilla to.
