Leeds United defender Luke Ayling has shared his reaction to reaching 250 appearances for the club, aiming a dig at those on social media hurling abuse at the side lately
The pressure at Elland Road is huge at the moment with the side performing very poorly all season, leaving them with two games left to climb out of the bottom three.
A point separates Leeds in 18th and Everton in 17th, as a trip to West Ham looms for Sam Allardyce and his side.
What has Luke Ayling said on social media?
A draw to Newcastle United could have been a huge win for Leeds, had Patrick Bamford converted the penalty to make it 2-0 to Leeds in the first half, and the reaction from a small and idiotic section of the fanbase was to send both the player and his family abhorrent threats over social media.
Obviously, those who sent those messages do not stand for what the majority of the fans believe in, with the club issuing a statement condemning such people.
Luke Ayling has since taken to social media to react to his own personal accolade of reaching 250 appearances at the weekend, where he scored, and had a side-message for those who had been unsupportive lately: CLICK HERE
Who has reacted to it?
A brilliant milestone for the right-back, there was plenty of reaction from teammates past and present for this post.
Kalvin Phillips and Pablo Hernandez were amongst those commenting:

There’s been a lot of negative reaction to the wording of Ayling’s post here saying that anyone not inside Elland Road is to blame for the mood around the club, but I think it’s just mis-worded.
He obviously thanks the fans for their support, and is just taking aim at the idiots who overstepped the mark with their criticism.
Fans are more than entitled to voice their frustration at performances of certain individuals, whether they are in the ground or not, and the players have to be thick-skinned enough to take it on the chin after not nearly being good enough all season.
Having said that, Ayling has now just put a target on his back for the final two games, if they don’t go to plan. Hopefully, everything goes swimmingly and we never have to visit this topic again.
We have been critical of the right-back this season, as we have a lot of players, but Ayling is a modern legend of the club, and should be regarded as such no matter what happens in the coming weeks.
