Leeds locked in talks for double new transfer before January deadline – report

Leeds United are still in transfer talks for Diogo Monteiro and George Hall as Jesse Marsch looks to finalise his January business, according to The Daily Mail.

The Daily Mail print edition (12 January, pg 72) suggested Leeds would make a move for Hall after securing the services of Georginio Rutter. However, a move has yet to materialise for the 18-year-old.

Yorkshire Evening Post (23 January) also suggest the Whites are now confident of landing Servette central defender Monteiro as he nears his 18th birthday on 28 January.

The Mail have since reported (24 January) talks are still ongoing for both players, with there just seven days left in the transfer window.

    Busy

It has been a hectic January window for the board at Elland Road – and it doesn’t appear to be slowing down any time soon. Rutter and Max Wober will hopefully prove to be excellent and immediate first-team successes, and it’s clear Marsch is eager to keep adding to the impressive collection of youth products at Elland Road.

There could potentially be the need for another midfielder to come through the door to provide depth should Tyler Adams or Marc Roca sustain an injury. Darko Gyabi is a youthful option and Hall would fall into a similar category if he did make the move to West Yorkshire.

The last two transfer windows have been extremely impressive and the pressure is now on the management team and the players to show they’re better than what their current Premier League position suggests.

The American has been significantly backed and there’s now nowhere to hide if results don’t improve.
