Harrison needed stitches as he netted in Leeds win over Wolves

Jack Harrison starred for Leeds United again as he netted his second Premier League goal in two games during the 4-2 away win over Wolves on Saturday – and he told fans on his Instagram that he was forced to have stitches at half-time.

Harrison, 26, came into the game full of confidence after a goal and an assist in the 2-2 draw against Brighton. While he scored an own goal, many suggest that Solly March actually fouled Harrison before prodding into his own net.

On Saturday at Molineux, he got the ball rolling. Good work by the reinstated Willy Gnonto on the left saw Harrison open the scoring, a neat finish into the back of the net. His 13th goal involvement of the season, in his 29th outing.

Luke Ayling, Rasmus Kristensen and then Rodrigo all got on the score sheet – while Wolves did made it interesting with goals from Jonny and Matheus Cunha. A massive win that pushes Leeds all the way into 14th place, two points clear.

Wolves went down to 10 men for a horrific challenge on Luke Ayling from Jonny. They could have easily been given a red card in the first half, with Craig Dawson tackling Harrison – earning a yellow. Harrison said he needed stitches.

Harrison needed stitches as he netted in Leeds win over WolvesIt was an incredibly robust challenge on Harrison. A powerful player in the form of Dawson, running full pelt at the Leeds no.11 before planting his studs on the winger’s ankle. A yellow was probably the right decision, but he was lucky.

Ultimately, Harrison and Leeds would have taken a few stitches, and a knock or two, to get the win. The international break now gives Javi Gracia the chance to work with his new squad and get things right, before going again on April 1.
