There is loan interest developing in Leeds United forward, Joe Gelhardt, ahead of the January transfer window.
Leeds handed Gelhardt a new long-term contract at Elland Road during the summer, tying the forward down until 2027 after a breakout campaign in 2021/22.
However, Gelhardt has struggled for minutes this season under Jesse Marsch in the Premier League, playing only 291 minutes and starting just three games, two of which were in the EFL Cup.
Sources have indicated to Leeds All Over that Leeds are starting to field interest in the forward from the Championship, with plenty of clubs seeking if a loan deal will be possible in the January window.
Although the identity of those clubs is yet to emerge, we understand that at least one club in the bottom third of the division is keen to take the 20-year-old on a temporary basis.

Gelhardt scored two goals and registered two assists in the Premier League last season for Leeds, proving to be a bright spark in a disappointing campaign that saw the club fight off relegation on the final day against Brentford.
It was expected that this season Gelhardt would compete with Rodrigo and Patrick Bamford for regular minutes under Marsch. Whilst he’s been in 12 of 14 matchday squads in the Premier League, the England youth international has managed a single start at Brentford and only 162 minutes across 11 appearances.
Rodrigo has been Leeds’ go-to man for goals with nine in 13 appearances, whilst Bamford, like Gelhardt, is still on the search for his first of the campaign.
Leeds are back in action on December 28th against Manchester City following the World Cup break.
