Middlesbrough is apparently interested in Leicester City’s Daniel Iversen, as is Preston North End.
During loan periods with Preston over the previous two seasons, the goalkeeper has attracted the attention. As a result of his efforts this season, he was selected the club’s player of the year.
His performances drew the attention of the Danish national team, with the 24-year-old gaining his first call-up to the senior squad during the most recent international break, following in the footsteps of City captain Kasper Schmeichel.
In March, Iversen was a late scratch for international friendly against the Netherlands and Serbia.
It’s no surprise that Preston want to sign Iversen on a permanent basis this summer, given his impressive loan performances. Middlesbrough, on the other hand, appears to be posing a threat.

Boro’s recruiting staff has been keeping a close eye on the goalkeeper, according to the Northern Echo, and has ‘requested’ City to keep them updated on any changes about the player’s future.
This season, Chris Wilder is looking for a new number one after Joe Lumley was dropped from the starting lineup.
Brendan Rodgers claimed that he had a ‘long talk’ with Iversen upon his return to the club before of the Premier League win over Norwich.
He also intimated that he will be given an opportunity to shine during the preseason.
On the returning loanees, he noted, “some are starting to drip-feed back in.” “Today, I had a long conversation with Daniel Iversen. Daniel has excelled at Preston, winning several player of the season honours. He’s had a fantastic year.
“These men will be given the opportunity to return. They’ve had long seasons, so I’m looking forward to seeing them again this summer.”
Since joining City from Danish side Esbjerg fB in the summer of 2016, Iversen has yet to make an appearance with the first squad. He has had loan stints at Oldham Athletic, Rotherham United, and Preston North End.
