The Hammers started the season badly and have never recovered. It’s hard to pick a player who has performed consistently well since the start of the campaign – mainly because there hasn’t been one!

The worrying thing is that there has been drastic dips in form for a handful of our best players from last season, including the likes of Declan Rice, Michail Antonio and Tomas Soucek.
Arguably the biggest drop off in form has come from Jarrod Bowen though…

And Moyes responded when asked about Jarrod Bowen’s underwhelming form for the Hammers this season, as quoted by Football.London:
“I thought Sunday was Jarrod’s best game for a long time. He played really well. He attacked people – took them on the inside and outside, got to the byline – and he did an awful lot of good things. Jarrod’s been a little bit behind but it’s not unexpected. He’s had a couple of years in the Premier League, pushed on and had a little bit of a dip. I’m hoping he’s on his way back into top form.”

That’s a fair comment from Moyes. I agree with him – Bowen hasn’t been anywhere near good enough this season.
Last term, the 26-year-old bagged 18 goals and 13 assists in 51 games for the Hammers, whilst this season he has just eight goals and three assists to his name in 36 appearances (Transfermarkt).
The former Hull City man really needs to rediscover his best form, if we are to enjoy a strong finish to our 2022/23 campaign, both domestically and on the continent.
As David Moyes says, Bowen’s last display for West Ham on Sunday was mightily encouraging. A good run of form for the Hammers forward over the next couple of months is much needed.
