Newcastle offer major transfer boost in Kamara deal ahead of summer
Boubacar Kamara, a young midfielder who has become a star at Marseille in recent seasons, has been given a big boost in Newcastle’s pursuit of the 22-year-old after remarks made by the club’s president.
Marseille’s president has basically granted Newcastle United permission to seek a trade for highly-rated midfielder Boubacar Kamara next summer.
The 22-year-old has been in excellent form for Les Olympiens this season, having established himself as a key member of their midfield since he was 18 years old. Les Olympiens are now second in Ligue 1.
Kamara was linked with a summer move away from Marseille, but he stayed in the south of France, however he might be snatched up ahead of next season.
And, as a result of the club president’s statements about Kamara’s future, Newcastle has received a major transfer boost.

Newcastle had already made one huge Ligue 1 midfield transfer in January, when they signed Bruno Guimaraes from Lyon after a protracted struggle with Arsenal.
However, the Magpies are only getting started under their new owners, and it’s possible that they’ll continue to supervise a huge turnover of players for several seasons, much like Manchester City did from 2008 to 2012.
Despite being the richest club in the world, Kamara will cost them nothing since his contract with Marseille expires at the end of the season, making him available for a free move.
With the salary that Newcastle can give, they will be able to blast all other competitors out of the water.
Marseille are anxious to maintain their young star, but their decision to make Arsenal’s Matteo Guendouzi’s loan permanent indicates that they may be preparing for life without Kamara.
And its president, Pablo Longoria, has given them a lift by describing the ‘issue’ they confront as a result of how contemporary football operates.
“I believe that, until the end, you have to have hope,” Longoria adds.
“With Boubacar Kamara, there is no conflict. His dedication is unquestionable. I don’t deny that a club that has invested in a player’s development is concerned about the possibility of losing him.
“To be honest, in today’s sport, contract termination is a concern. We must consider how the industry operates.
