Newcastle To Make Another Attempt At Landing Howe’s Preferred Target
Newcastle are plotting a summer swoop for long-term target Scott McTominay according to an exclusive from Luke Edwards in The Telegraph.

Edwards has revealed that Eddie Howe, sporting director Dan Ashworth, and head of recruitment Steve Nickson all believe the 26-year-old would be a perfect fit in Howe’s midfield.
McTominay has been scouted extensively over the past 12 months. Newcastle reportedly were rebuffed in their attempts to add the defensive midfielder in each of the last two windows.
However, the trio is banking on Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag being more amenable to a sale this summer. While McTominay has made 32 appearances this season, he has found starts very difficult to come by.
Ten Hag could sanction a sale to increase his summer budget. The midfielder would command a decent fee as he will have two years plus a club option left on his contract. McTominay is reportedly open to moving to St. James’ Park.
Edwards also confirms that Leicester City’s James Maddison remains a wanted man at Newcastle. However, he is reporting that the England international may want to join a club already established as a Premier League title contender.
