Newcastle United’s owners were delighted after the 3-0 victory over Leicester City.

Mehrdad Ghodoussi and Jamie Reuben were both in agreement over Newcastle United fans’ excellent support at Leicester City.

Around 3,300 made the trip to the Boxing Day trip to King Power Stadium to witness a 3-0 victory for Eddie Howe’s side.

Chris Wood opened the scoring from the penalty spot three minutes before Miguel Almiron doubled the lead not long after.

Joelinton’s header from Kieran Trippier’s corner added a third just after the half-hour mark as United moved up to second in the Premier League table.

Howe’s men picked up where they left off before the World Cup break – sealing a sixth straight victory and extending their unbeaten run to 13 matches in all competitions.

Following the victory, Newcaste posted its traditional dressing room photo with the caption “what a team” to which Ghodoussi replied: “Couldn’t agree more”.

Ghodoussi then paid tribute to the travelling supporters. He continued: “Also a big thank you to our traveling supporters….you rocked the king power stadium”.

Reuben also referenced the fans in his post-match verdict. Brilliant performance, result and support from the traveling Mags,” he tweeted. “Merry Christmas and thank you @NUFC #WeAreUnited.”
