According to rumours in Brazil, Newcastle United is one of the teams expressing interest in Giovani, a star for Palmeiras.
The Magpies, who have Miguel Almiron, Joelinton, and Bruno Guimaraes on their books, are still associated with some of South America’s top athletes.
Steve Nickson, the top scout for United, allegedly travelled to Brazil just a few weeks ago to witness 17-year-old Angelo Gabriel play for Santos.

Santos was allegedly informed by Nickson that United would be ready to pay £17 million for his services, but the value placed on him by the club is far greater.
Since then, there has been little chatter about Angelo, and Newcastle is currently connected to another potential young Brazilian.

Giovani of Palmeiras is reportedly on United’s radar after playing a key role in the team’s Sao Paulo Junior Football Cup victory earlier this year, according to ESPN Brazil.
After just recovering from an ankle ailment, the 18-year-old, who made his senior debut last year, has also grabbed the eye of Ajax and Bayer Leverkusen.
Giovani, who is covered by a remarkable £50 million release clause, is said to have already had a £10 million offer for him rejected by Ajax.
Recently, Palmeiras traded another promising player to Porto, Gabriel Veron, so there is “motivation” to keep Giovani around.
