This is the latest Newcastle United News with Dan Burn revealing out the reason sadness filled up the air in the dressing room after 2-1 win over burnley.
After Newcastle United’s 2-1 triumph at Turf Moor, Dan Burn says there was a sense of melancholy in the dressing room.
Some players made their final appearance for the Magpies, but Eddie Howe’s team finished with a win and moved up to 11th position in the Premier League rankings.
Their 49 points this season are the club’s best in the Premier League since 2014. However, before Howe’s vacation, the process of moulding the team will begin, with discussions with players scheduled for this week.
“It was amazing, and the boys were excited,” Burn remarked. There was some grief as well, because there would be some turnover in the summer.

“Some will depart, while others will remain. I’m giddy for the new staff, and I’m giddy for the players, knowing how much effort we put in and how well we finished.”
Burn stated after the game in Lancashire on the season as a whole: “We’re overjoyed because, given where we started and where we finished, 49 points and 11th place is a fantastic season.
“We discussed making it a game for Burnley, as well as putting in a solid performance and finishing on a high note. And I believe we accomplished that; it was a difficult game, and they put a lot of pressure on us, but we prevailed.
Newcastle were virtually reduced to Burnley’s ruthless level, as Burn explained: “It ended up being more of a Burnley style game than our game.” At halftime, we discussed how we needed to be more composed on the ball and take control of the game.
“But, obviously, given their condition and the importance of the game for Burnley, it was always going to be that sort of game.” I’m simply thrilled we were able to pass the exam. I’m sorry we didn’t keep a clean sheet, but their performance earned a goal.”
Burn’s £13 million signing from Brighton has been one of Newcastle’s biggest success stories this season, with the defender winning a slew of man of the match accolades since his arrival.
“I’m ecstatic that I’ll be here for at least another couple of years,” Burn said.
When I arrived here, I couldn’t have asked for anything more. The circumstance we were in and the outcome were both fantasies. It’s incredible.”
